Best event you have ever been to and why?
My 3rd Birthday… Went Off!
Who would you like to go B2B with and why?
Mallgrab init & coz he’s a wavey guy, His music is Mental!
Who would you like to collaborate on a track with why?
J Cole, Knxwledge or Illmind. 3 of the maddest guys goin’ regardless of genre, end of man.
What first sparked your interest in electronic music?
My uncle is a DJ and I’m an annoying human being, so back in the day, mini-WHEELA would just run around my gran’s house & just harass him & his mates in his room constantly, and all they were ever doing was spinnin’ vinyl.
First thing specifically I could remember vibing to would be like early Chemical Brothers or Daft Punk believe it or not! I was one groovy yoot!
Which artists do you listen to the most for inspiration or enjoyment?
FJAAK 100%
Why do you enjoy producing electronic music?
I’ve got mad Anxiety, and it is legit like a medicine man. As long as I can produce music of some form or just create some form of art, in general, I feel pretty sweet & fulfilled. I don’t make music to put out, I just make it anyway, always have done for the same reason, just in May of last year I just thought, “yeah man, my mates like House n shit, let’s do that for a bit and put some stuff out?” so now I’m on that wave.
Which are your all-time favourite labels to dig tracks from?
Nervous or Stones Throw depends what for.
What is your go-to guilty pleasure track and why?
Comethazine – Let Me In. The lyrics are absolute trash, but that beat just bangs!
Which came first for you, producing or DJing, Do you prefer one medium more over the other? Producing came first and I’ll always prefer it 100000000000% more can’t lie! hahaha
What is the music scene like in Manchester at the moment?
Poppin Mate! Full of great talent of all sizes and they’re all absolutely doin’ bits for manny, can’t say anymore!
If you could offer one piece of advice to new DJ/Producers what would it be?
Don’t rush, chill, fuck what everyone else thinks and just do you init. What else can you do? And most importantly, make shit you like, not shit you think other people will like coz the world is legit full of sheep that don’t even know what they want anyway.
Can you describe your idea of an ideal DJ set, what tracks would you include?
bare. heavy. techno mate. And you gotta add a dash of Paul Findlay to that, that goes without saying. Silly not too. That kid’s got it man, should have him on here.
What was the first single/record/album that really meant something to you and why?
Nirvana – Nevermind. Legendary business, still a big favourite of mine today.
How did you learn how to produce?
Legit got some absolutely dead out laptop from school in like year 8. It was for doing homework and such, I obviously just cracked fruity loops and started making beats for my mates to spit bars on.
How would you describe your production style and overall sound?
Lucid, too many things going on man. I’ve done a lot of different types of music but to wrap it up I’d describe it as sugar, spice & everything nice!
