The night time provides a whole new experience for a photographer to work in, a challenging and mysterious environment that drives curiosity and craft. The act of photographing at night is one that provides inherent freedom, a time less bound by conventions and restrictions. In this time zone, where daily life has come to a standstill, the city becomes strangely silent offering new unique moments for a photographer to capture. The presence of artificial light creates greater luminance on subject matter than daylight, setting scenes that are enigmatic but yet familiar.
The collection of images taken below were the results of two projects that I produced over my time at university.
